Questions and answers
What is remotejobs.co.za?
A job board for remote and hybrid jobs that people living in South Africa can apply for.
Is it free?
Yes. Searching and applying cost nothing. Employers can pay to place an advert.
How do you decide a job is open to people in South Africa?
We read the location the employer gives. A remote job is listed when it names South Africa, Africa, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) or the whole world. A hybrid job is listed when the office is in a South African city. If the location is missing or unclear, we leave the job out.
Where do the jobs come from?
Company career pages and public job feeds that allow it. Each listing names its source and links to the original posting.
How do I apply?
Use the button on the job page. It takes you to the employer or the source site. We never receive your application.
What is a paid advert?
A job an employer paid to show for a number of days. It is marked as an advert. Adverts that break our rules, such as asking applicants to pay a fee, are held and not shown.
A job looks like a scam. What should I do?
Do not pay anyone or share your ID or bank details. Use the report link on a paid advert, or write to hello@remotejobs.co.za with the link to the job.
Why does a job say it is remote but ask for a US time zone?
Employers sometimes limit remote jobs by time zone or country in the text of the posting. We list what the employer says about location, so read the full posting before you apply.
Why can I not find a job I saw earlier?
Jobs come down when the employer removes them or the posting ends. We remove a listing once it has gone from its source.
